Aboriginal Economic Broker

The Federation of Victorian Traditional Owner Corporations is seeking applications for the position of Aboriginal Economic Broker to support economic and business development opportunities across Victoria focusing on Traditional Owner groups.

The Federation of Victorian Traditional Owner Corporations is the peak body in Victoria providing a collective voice for Traditional Owners to self-determine their future.

Our vision is for Traditional Owners to be strong on Country and leading the political, economic and cultural landscape.

About the role

This position is for a fixed term of one year full time and is funded by the Department of Premier and Cabinet (Aboriginal Victoria).

The role of the Economic Development Broker is primarily to support Traditional Owner Corporations in developing business and economic opportunities and to assist the Federation’s role to bring a State-wide approach to issues.

The Broker will work within the team of advisors in the Federation with tasks and responsibilities primarily to engage with Traditional Owner corporations to identify and link potential business and community development opportunities, lead and support planning and key projects and develop relationships with key stakeholders.

To be successful in this role

We are looking for

  • Knowledge of and experience with the Victorian Aboriginal community

  • Skills, knowledge and experience relevant to community development, business development or economic development

  • Ability to work autonomously and in teams, and to travel (within Victoria)

  • This is an identified position.
